Bed Bath & Beyond came very close to going out of business

Bed Bath & Beyond was on the verge of liquidating its business before it struck a deal with a hedge fund to avoid bankruptcy. Lenders to the chain were reported to be in favor of liquidating the business but were convinced to hold back when told of the human cost — 30,000 people out of jobs.
