Adidas Opens First TERREX Outdoor-Lifestyle Store in Canada

Adidas has brought its TERREX outdoor brand to Vancouver, British Columbia’s Kitsilano neighborhood with a new brick-and-mortar store. While TERREX has an established ecommerce presence in Canada, the Kitsilano location allows customers to experience the label in person.

As TERREX expands its brick-and-mortar presence, location scouting for the label has been focused on areas that are known to attract outdoor enthusiasts. Adidas launched this first Canadian TERREX location following the successful opening of its first North American TERREX pop-up store in Portland, Ore., according to Hypebeast.

Adidas incorporated immersive components into the TERREX store design such as designing a canopy with live plants to drive interest in sustainability and conservation. TERREX’s physical store also boasts a discovery zone where visitors can learn about how Adidas is combatting plastic waste. TERREX was designed to also serve as a haven for the local community where visitors can speak with in-house gear fitters, test new products and meet with fellow outdoor enthusiasts.

“As a brand attuned to the harsh conditions of the outdoors, we couldn’t think of a region better suited than Vancouver to start our journey,” said Lesley Hawkins, VP of Retail at Adidas Canada in a statement. “It’s an opportunity to give local outdoor lovers access to the Adidas TERREX products they’ve been waiting for.”

“The Kitsilano TERREX store brings the outdoors into a retail community environment,” Hawkins continued. “Using state-of-the-art materials and technology, the space showcases Adidas’ commitment to innovation and sustainability.”

Sporting goods and active lifestyle retailers have been responding to the continued growth in consumer demand for outdoor gear. In September 2021, DICK’S Sporting Goods launched its Public Lands store concept that offers outdoor apparel, footwear and equipment. Public Lands also boasts a 30-foot rock wall and promotes sustainability through donating 1% of all sales into local and national conservation initiatives.
